Refurbish a Dinette Chair: Make it look new
The seat pad is usually the area that experiences the highest level of tear and wear on the used dinette chair. Good news though, you can simply refurbish the old seat pad and it will look as good as new. There are certain tools that you will require to do this job well. Some of the requirements include the staple gun, some foam and material or fabric.
However, the list of requirements is rather extensive and may include other items such as the marker, a pair of scissors, plastic bag with a zipper at the top and a screwdriver. The procedure has been described as being slightly difficult and therefore requires a great deal of concentration.
First and foremost, over turn the dinette chair to an upside down position. The next step is to identify where all the screws are and consequently unscrewing them with the use of a screwdriver. Once you have unfastened the screws place them at a safe so that they do not get lost as there are very tiny in size. Once you are through with unscrewing turn the chair back to its normal position and remove the seat pad. Remove the old material on the seat pad with the use of scissors.
The next step is involves coming up with a model by putting the wooden frame against the new one and marking out the area and eventually using the scissors to accurately trim of the model. When you finish let the wooden frame face the right side and pour some glue on it. Ensure you have the foam pad and wooden frame placed in parallel positions. You can then squeeze it down aiming at the glue.
Spread out the new fabric of the chair on a straight surface like the floor or probably a table and then just put the wooden frame on top of the material. Using a marker draw out a model simply on the outward boarders of the frame. It is recommended that you increase six inches as you come up with the model. Take your pair of scissors and trim the model out following the demarcations you have made with the marker.
Get grip of a small part of the fabric and ensure you tow it tightly on top of one side of the frame. Crinkle up the fabric and staple it right on the frame. The stapling can be done using stapling gun. Note that the staples have two maintain a distance of two inches. Keep doing the same procedure until you have refurbished the whole frame.
Overturn the dinette chair and put in the new refurbished seat pad back into its place.
